Latest condition of Root Man from Indonesia

Here, i'm gonna report about latest condition of indonesian Root Man.

Dede (39) or more well-known as Root Man from Indonesia, has become world phenomena in medicine. Dede is diagnosed having "epidermo displacia veruciformis" or skin warts with "giant cutaneous horn" and he is the one and only in the world.

Dede also has an immunodefficiency, that his body lack of CD4, that makes that virus rapidly growth and spread to entire of his body.

Many dermatology experts are coming to see him, and learn from him. One of them is Prof. Anthony Gaspari from Maryland USA, he also give some medication to Dede. But the medications was stopped a few months after be gave because of damaging Dede's kidney.


After, dede's treatment is based on Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, Indonesia. He received not only medication but also surgery to remove that warts from his body.

"Information from Dede's family, about 40% of his ointment (Salicylic Acid) was being used by his neighbors," Rahmat Dinata said, one of surgery team that manage Dede's case in Hasan Sadikin Hospital.
After 2 years of treatment


Dede's ointment is useful to remove anykind of warts from human skin. By thinning the upper most layer of epidermis.

But, the ointment won't cure it 100% because Dede's body is lack of immune protection.Until now, there is no drug that can stop the growth of virus in Dede's body.

Introduction
About 80% from population have ever had acne problems. Acne can be very mild, but can be very big, severe, and uncomfortable.

Acne vulgaris is commonly found in teenagers, but it also can be found in children and adults.

Disease Progression
Acne has variations depends on time. Most of patient feel that fluctuation of number or size of the spots (acne). In female teenagers, it's related to menstruation cycle.

Acne usually becomes more severe for temporary then subsided and disappear in 2-3 years.
But, some people still have this problems, eventhough they already adults.


Psychological Impacts of Acne Vulgaris

Acne can make life becomes uncomfortable, and often happen in teenagers, that is a group of psychologically unstable, because they are still finding their own identity.

Especially, when acne often involved face, and for adolescents face is important part of their body because face is related to our image and impressions.

So, talking about acne is not just about the number and size of the spots, but also involved the patient perception about the acne itself.

What Cause Acne?
There are 3 main component of acne pathogenesis:
1. Androgen, high levels of androgen stimulate production of lipid at the skin and stimulate skin growth.
2. The obstruction of hair follicle by skin growth.
3. Bacterial growth in obstructed hair follicle. That bacteria than also stimulate inflammation, that will result in acne.

Therapy

Acne Therapy is based on that 3 components. But it depends on severity of the acne itself, because some modalities have many side effects.

Kind of Therapy:
1. Relieving hair follicle obstruction ----> vitamin A derivatives, benzoil peroxide
2. Kill the bacteria --------> Antibiotics
3. Lowering lipid production -----> anti-androgen
4. Anti-Inflammation
5. Comedo Extraction.

False Myth about Acne
- Acne is caused by fatty atau sweety food
- Acne is caused by lack of face hygiene
- Acne is caused by hormonal inbalance
- Acne is related with sexual activities.

Those are Fake, not true.

Food doesn't take a part in acne progression.
Face hygiene doesn't change the condition of acne
Most of the patients have a normal hormon levels
Sexual activities, don't provide any different between often, seldom, and over activities.
